Guide for Repairing and Resetting iTunes in Windows 10?

Good news for all iPhone/iPad users, if any of you want to activate your iPhone or iPad or any update related to iOS software then you don’t iTunes is no longer we necessary, but still, the software is required to the backup iOS device to your computer system. Usually, computers users often used iTunes to buy music and movies from the iTunes store.

It’s been while as the iTunes app is available for download from Windows 10 Store. The iTunes app in the store provides everything which you get in the classic iTunes program.

Generally, iTunes always worked without creating an issue in the Windows 10. But sometimes, it might create few issues like it refuses to recognize connected iPhone or iPad which might feel lethargic or might refuse to open.

If you are facing any issues with your iTunes app on Windows 10, then you need to repair it or reset it to the default settings to fix this issue.

Steps to Repair and Reset iTunes in Windows 10

The steps are very easy and less time taken only if you follow these steps in the ascending order. The steps are discussed below:

Repair iTunes in Windows 10

The process of repairing the iTunes will not delete the data which already saved in the app.
1.     Launch the Settings App.
2.     Go to the System option.
3.     Under System option, navigate to the Apps options.
4.     In the Apps option, click on the Apps & Features option.
5.     Then, search for the iTunes entry.
6.     Next, click on the iTunes entry to disclose the hidden ‘Advanced’ options link.
7.     After that, click on that same link.

Note: if the Advanced options link is not showing up on the screen, it’s probably because you might run the classic version of iTunes programs. However, the repair and reset options are only available for the iTunes app which is downloaded from the Apple store.

8.     Under the iTunes Settings page, drop down till the Reset and Repair option appears on the screen
9.     Alternatively, click on the Repair option to start repairing the iTunes app.
10.                         Once the process is done, and then a check sign will appear next to the Repair button pointing out that the Repair job is completed.

Reset iTunes in Windows 10

Resetting the iTunes will automatically delete all your iTunes data already saved on your system.

1.     Close your iTunes app it is already running on the screen.
2.     Move to the Settings option.
3.     Under the Settings option, click on the Apps option.
4.     Then, in the Apps option, click on the Apps & Features option.
5.     Click on the iTunes entry for seeing the ‘Advanced’ option link.
6.     Next, click on the ‘Advanced’ option link to open the app’s settings page.
7.     Roll down the page till the Reset option appears on your screen.
8.     Now, click on the Reset button.
9.     Again, click on the Reset button if you see any confirmation dialog box for a start resetting the app.

Note: Resetting the iTunes will also reinstall the app and again go back to its default settings. The process of resetting will not take more than a few seconds. And a check sign will be appearing next to the Reset button once the process of reset is completed.
